I love finding light and nourishing meals to balance out the heaviness of the standard keto diet. This refreshing summertime smoothie has fresh berries and creamy avocado. This Keto Vegan Berry Smoothie is a great way to nourish your body that's both vegan-and keto-friendly (which is not always an easy combination).

Make it Vegan
To ensure that this Keto Vegan Berry Smoothie is actually vegan, simply use a plant-based protein powder. Avoid whey or egg white proteins and stick with powders that use plant proteins (i.e. pea, soy, hemp, brown rice, etc.) instead. Click to view vegan protein powder options.
Make it Keto
By using low-carb fruits such as berries, it's easy to keep it keto. I also use a couple drops of berry extract in my smoothie to give it a more fruity flavor without having to add too much fruit.
Most smoothies use bananas to give it a creamy texture. On the keto diet, replacing the banana with avocado is a great way to maintain that silky texture.
